MY INSTIGATOR

When we were growing up as children, we used to say that when we grow up we would like to be like so and so. As a contemporary thinker, I come up with an idea that we need to embark and say that when we grow up one would like to be like a certain bird or animal. This probably could be going beyond the ordinary.

During my interactions with philosophers and psychologists I came to realize that as far as success is a concern, one cannot leave behind the characteristics of an eagle. Among the mentioned traits of an eagle, I cherish that of Push. After hatching and the young eagle have started to develop wings, the mother gives them a push. This is in order to make them not to remain at one particular point. It is the push that makes the young eagle to discover their wings and their purpose. One of the challenges I see in us human beings is that lack of push. I tend to think that push is the greatest gift a man can offer to a fellow man. Whoever accepts this push never remain the same. Being human there is that tendency of not accepting challenges from others but those who have realized the meaning of life will always take a risk to admit the challenges.

Another aspect that inspires me from eagle's traits is the ability to retreat. An eagle will always go to the highest point and observe what is happening on the ground and after it takes action. This is contrary to us human beings. Retreat for some is the time to relax and have good moments with friends. Others take retreat as an adventure and that is why it has to be far from the working place. The retreat that is carried by the eagle is purposeful. It goes to the highest point so as to observe not only the prey but also the enemy/obstacles. In man’s life silence is the highest point. This calls for self -isolation whereby one evaluates the past and the present with an aim of strengthening the future. The lack of silence in the twenty-first century has very much contributed to retardation. A good example is that of a young man who puts on the headphones listening to music assuming to be in a different galaxy. It becomes a frustration at the end of the day when one is forced to take them out and only to find himself in the same horrible situations. My friends who are excelling in business have always told me that retreat is the key to their prosperity. How I wish this notion can be universalized.

During my lifespan, I had a litany of complaints because of Trust on people. For an eagle to trust it has to test. This is vividly seen during the mating where the male has to be tested by picking off twigs from the earth that has been thrown by the female eagle. Lastly, it has to pick while on the air when the female goes to the highest point and this shows commitment. Majority of ladies in our contemporary world remains wounded since they accepted all that their husbands told them on the first day. Testing from a human perspective seems to be a bit pessimistic but viewed with a philosophical eye it holds more logic. Elaborating more on this notion we can base it on reflection. How many of us reflect on what people say to us? Many have ended up in the court of law simply because somebody was asked to give hundreds of dollars so as to qualify for scholarship Abroad. It is only after investigation one realizes that even the one who corned him/her had not even completed the primary education. Testing before you trust could be understood in this regard as a process of going beyond the ordinary. Asking some relevant questions and answering them by oneself.

In conclusion, it is an undeniable fact that farmers especially those who keep chickens will see eagle as an enemy. On the contrary, it would make more sense when one ignores the negative aspect of it and draw out the positive ones. If we are to prosper, we will have to look at things from different perspectives. This is the beauty of life.
