RELIGION AND POLITICS ARE ONE
Mahatma Gandhi, a man I owe due honour once said that,” Those who say religion has nothing to do with politics do not know what religion is”. Among the questions that I think should be raised today as far as politics are concern are;(a) Can we have a system in the government today where by there is no shedding of blood? (b)What is the contribution of religions (+ve or -ve) in the development of politics? Niccolo Machiavelli, a fit grounded in thought political philosophers, brought a paradigm shift from what was being gossiped of and what was factual in the ground. He uncovered his intelligence by lettering to Lorenzo who was a prince in Italy, targeting at unifying the states. Well, I have to concede and avow categorically that what was articulated by Machiavelli is very much in practice today and in this case, I don’t dismiss Religions from politics.
