WHY WE ARE FRUSTRATED

In the History of Philosophy, some have defined man as what he eats and others as what he Thinks. In the Contemporary world, one will be in a better position to define man as he perceives Himself.
In Psychology, a majority are driven or led astray by what we may refer to as irrational beliefs. For a highly emotional Being, such beliefs cause one to become frustrated and some even walk into an extent of committing suicide. One of the causes of Emotional disturbances in human beings is Dogmas. A certain lady in the University has already made it in her mind that after the four years in the University she has to Graduate with Summa Cum Laude (First Class Honour) whichever the circumstances. Such kind of demands makes one feel frustrated and demoralized which the coin happens to turn on the other side. From the shared experience, many have been frustrated even when it comes to the matters pertaining to relationships. Some individuals have in their minds that they have to be loved, listened to and cared by everybody. This is what I refer to as intellectual nonsense. In as far as even the Bible tells us to love one another, it is impossible to be loved and listened by everybody. There have been cases of young men and ladies taking poison because they have been rejected by their lovers. The fact is and remains to be that every human being is unique and should not be watered down. 

What differentiates man from animal is consciousness. A man has the capacity to carry out a self -introspection process. This implies thinking about one’s own thoughts and discovering oneself. In that regard, there should be a visible difference in how human being and animals handle emotions. When one command that "everything should be as I want them to be", it raises a philosophical question. Who are you that everything has to move as you want? There are those who avail themselves to be knocked by the car simply because one had categorically put it in the mind that they have to buy the new is by the end of the year. Another belief is that of the past defining present and the future. A majority believe that for example if one's parents were poor and died poor, they will also die poor. This useless belief has made some to think that even to become a President your father must Have been president. As a result, we end up having many lazy citizens. This has been contributed by the propagators of Religion who preaches that the Creator will destroy even the third generation because of the past sins. Is this not contradicting the His Omniscience?

The above mention episodes bring to our attention that our emotions stem mainly from our beliefs, evaluations, interpretations, and reactions to life situations. We are what we perceive ourselves. In conclusion, man has come to the realization of the aspect of dynamicity. If we are driven by irrational beliefs, we will die young or else we live a frustrated life. We have the author of life and therefore one should not be driven by musts, shoulds or even have to.
